"Music as I conceive it is ecological. You Could Go and Say That It Is Further ecology "(John Cage)

What interaction. What active use. In Ivy noise the spectator is the work of art. An immersive environment, which arises from the encounter between visuals and sound, awaits the visitor to come to life and animate the exhibition space. Electric cables climb on the walls following trends not at random, but defined by a careful study of the growth of the ivy plant. Black lines that form organic shapes on the white walls, branches from which bloom unusual flowers: speakers of various sizes. From some of these buds comes a unique carpet of sound that acts as a background to acoustic improvisation, which is determined by human presence. Any noise is picked up by a series of microphones, sampled in real time by software developed ad hoc, and played back through the speakers. Voices, footsteps, movements, are the food, the lymph of the installation. The life that gives life, as a paradigm of existence. From the technological parasite is born an utterly synthetic sound which nonetheless creates an illusion of natural setting. Psychoacoustic journey, where nothing stands still, everything turns into an unstoppable and impromptu metamorphic process. An experience which through multisensory prompt and a perceptive stimulus establishes a relationship between men and technology, permitting not only a peaceful coexistence between the two, but even an hybridization eco-sustainable, enhanced by the use of recycled materials. Since 2006 - year of birth of their creative partnership - Daniela Di Maro and Roberto Pugliese investigate, each with their own skills - she has a degree in visual arts, he in electronic music and new technologies - including natural and artificial contamination with a tendency explicitly pro-environmentalist. Their research is aimed at design and implementation of micro-universes video sonic, audio visual oasis in which the individual can, albeit temporarily, find a beneficial and relaxing contact with nature, always carried by the technological medium. These techno-meditative landscape originated from sound input on which are grafted in second place formal ones, or vice versa. The result of this osmosis is the clumping together of visual, auditory and tactile signals that are constantly challenging the idea of two-dimensional formation of the opera in favour of its all-encompassing and embracing environmental concerns. A back and forth, which also returns in the production video artistic of the duo, consisting of sound recordings - the sound is built on the image - and video production - the image is built on the sound. Anamorphosis belongs to the second type. Starting from an analysis of how the brain perceives, differentiates or confuses sounds natural and synthetic. The video at the showroom becomes an empathetic path slowly rhythmic, an emergence from the depths to the surface of the matter from its simplicity to its complexity. The piano music is electronically disguised, becoming something else. As well as the basic atomic structures and simple cellular organisms do not lead back to a recognizable entity. A deconstruction aimed at the reconstruction of a new hypothesis, if not better, at least harmless. For everything and for everyone.
